PCC IN THE COMMUNITY

We’re Giving Back

AS YOU MAY HAVE FIGURED OUT,

children are our number one priority.

Not only do we obsess about proper care, we are also driven to pursue proper education and nutrition. We understand the staggering statistic that 1 in 4 children in our own cities in the Triad face hunger every single day, and are both determined and committed to make an impact in our community. When you let it sink in that 25% of the children in our own community, the children sitting in the classroom next to our own, aren’t sure where their next meal will come from, it’s heartbreaking. So, PCC is working to help fight local hunger.

We researched a few options and found Backpack Beginnings.

Backpack Beginnings discreetly delivers bags of food to the children through their schools every week and help make sure these children have nutrition over the weekends and school breaks.

A staff member from Preferred goes to the Backpack Beginnings warehouse every week and picks up the bags of food. Then, we deliver them to the elementary schools we support. It is an incredibly rewarding feeling and more than that, it helps us sleep a little easier knowing those children will have something to fill their bellies.

Backpack Beginnings also helps with a family market store, as well as clothing and comfort packs (include books, hygiene products, toys, blankets and any other items that are needed).

In addition to working with Backpack Beginnings, we devote our time and a percentage of profit to volunteer with Sumner Elementary School. We are planning to include more schools in the future!
