Make a difference while earning a living.

  • Nannies play a vital role in the lives of the families they work with by providing essential care, emotional support, and enriching experiences for children. They can also offer assistance to parents and create a stable and loving environment that contributes to a child's well-being and development.

FAQS

  • We have served the Piedmont Triad since 2001! We started as a babysitting service and grew to add nanny placements, pet sitting, vacation assistance, and more. Our offerings reflect the interest and skills of our team, as they are the backbone of our agency.

  • Once we receive your application, our team will review it and contact you for the next steps. Qualified candidates will have a phone interview, Zoom or face-to-face interview, reference check, social media screen, and background check.

  • We offer numerous positions to best meet your availability and needs.

Full-Time Nanny Placement: For experienced in-home nannies who are working with one family for more than 35 hours a week. Candidates are required to have at least two years of experience as a nanny to apply for these placements.

Part-Time Nanny Placement: For nannies who have experience and work 10 or more hours a week with a family. You can work two part-time positions to gain experience to become a full-time nanny candidate.

Babysitters: For those with multiple positions with varied hours, locations, and ages of children. This will provide hands-on experience and is a wonderful opportunity to meet great people!

  • Yes, for qualified candidates who wish to work 10 hours or more, you can be placed as a part-time or full-time nanny. These positions will be with the same family weekly.

For on-call sitters, we always request your feedback after a shift and work hard to send you to regular families to give you and the children a lasting relationship.

  • Our families undergo a registration process but are not screened the same way our candidates are. We ask for frequent feedback from our staff and only send caregivers to safe neighborhoods with caring families. We have an office member available 24/7 for any issues and we promise to only send you into homes you feel comfortable in.

  • For part-time and full-time nannies, your schedule will be determined ahead of time by the families, and you will then agree to the hours and start date.

For sitters, you will receive your schedule on Wednesdays for the upcoming week.

You will occasionally receive text messages for urgent needs (unless you ask not to be a part of the on-call team).

  • Each time you work a shift with Preferred ChildCare, you will clock in and clock out on our app. You are paid by direct deposit on the 15th and 30th of each month for all hours worked.

  • NO, our caregivers are our greatest asset. You are never charged to work with us and should not pay to interview or work with anyone.

  • Yes, you will be paid for all hours reserved even if your are let go early from the shift.

We have a minimum two-hour shift for Sunday through Thursday and a minimum four-hour shift on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

  • Preferred ChildCare believes nannies and sitters are some of the hardest working members of society. We ensure to follow all labor laws and provide overtime pay for all hours worked above 40 hours a week. We only place nannies with families who agree to comply to the same laws and tax requirements to ensure you are treated and compensated fairly.
